Features:
From the drawing board of Peter Norlin, one of Sweden's preeminent naval architects, comes the award winning, single-handed, International 2.4 Meter Class, Norlin Mark III. It is stable, unsinkable, and comes equipped with all the sophistication and responsiveness of larger racing yachts. All the control lines are led under the deck to a console directly in front of the skipper. They are literally at the skippers finger tips.
The Norlin Mark III was chosen by Sailing World Magazine as its 1994 Boat of the Year, One Design - Daysailer Category. It has been the consistent winner in all International and National Championship 2.4mR Regattas.
Whether interest comes from an individual sailor, a teaching and/or training facility, a yacht club, or a community sailing program, the Norlin Mark III provides exciting sailing where strategy and skill contribute more than weight and athletic ability.
Paralympic Status:
As a tribute to its design, competitiveness and adaptability, the Disabled Sailing Committee of the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) selected the yacht for the Single Handed Class at the 2000 Paralympics in Sydney, Australia. In conjunction with this selection, Gavia Yachts East is working with a number of organizations to outfit each yacht with the proper options for each sailor.
About the builder:
Gavia Yachts East, established in 1992, is exclusively licensed to build and sell the Norlin Mark III in North, South and Central America. In North America the Norlin Mark III is produced in Amityville, NY at Menger Boatworks. The quality of work from Bill Menger and this facility is second to none.
