Boats Used:

An Ericson 27; as well as 2 Freedom 20s. A fully accessible catamaran is in advanced planning stage and we project launching in June, 2000.

Activities:

BAADS is a completely volunteer organization. Our boats are among the most active at San Francisco's South Beach Harbor. Activities include the Sunday drop-in sail class and a periodic ASA Basic Coastal Cruising certification course. We participate in a variety of community service efforts. Some of our members are enthusiastic racers and we are well represented in SF Bay races as well as in Vancouver, Chicago and other venues. Our members are most active in simply taking out our boats for pleasure sailing on SF Bay, one of the great sailing areas of the world. About half of our members are disabled; many of them are qualified skippers who take charge of the boat, with assistance as requested from able-bodied crew members. We welcome all who want to sail, regardless of disability or experience.
